Best Industry Patterns and Practices

A pattern is a way of doing something, a way of pursuing an intent, a technique
that uses classes and their methods in an object oriented (OO) way to achieve
some goal of solving a problem.
We use Microsoft recommended Pattern and Practices in our Server and Enterprise Application Development as per needs of our client. Many patterns and practices offer guidelines on how to incorporate multiple Microsoft products and technologies into an overall solution for our clients. Each pattern and practices we follow offers us a combination of written documentation and re-usable source code. Many also include a reference implementation. As the guidance is being developed it is reviewed and approved by internal Microsoft product teams and by external customers and other Microsoft partners. This produces a solid starting point for development of our client's applications and a set of proven practices that we follow with confidence.

As part of our development practices, we have pre built Enterprise Libraries which is a collection of reusable software components designed to assist our developers with common enterprise development. These building blocks are a type of guidance; they provide source code, test cases, and documentation that can be used "as is," extended, or modified by our developers to use on complex, enterprise-level line-of-business development projects which reduce development time to a minimal level.

The Microsoft .NET framework is a unique suite of products for developing and managing IT systems
with tiered, OO architectures. Most .NET components can be compared with competing
products from venders that implement software according to the Java platform, Enterprise Edition (J2EE)
specification. But J2EE is a specification, not a product, while .NET is the product lineup of
one company and its partners.
